Changes the term “prescribing practitioner” to “prescribing physician” and amends the terminology throughout the rules. This rule also amends the definition of “psychotropic medication” to include substances, though prescribed with the intent to treat other medical conditions, have the effect of altering brain chemistry.

Group and non-group subscriber contracts shall include all elements contained in this section, including:(v) Optional benefits pursuant to Sections 627.668 and 627.669, F.S., for group contracts.
Fla. Stat. § 627.668 is optional coverage for mental and nervous disorders required and Fla. Stat. § 627.669 is optional coverage required for substance abuse impaired persons.
